Things to do in the Broome wet season

Situated in WA’s tropical north, the wet season in Broome stretches from November until April, where temperatures average between 25 to 33.6°C.

Enjoy Broome all year round

While most outdoorsy tours won’t be running during this time, there’s still plenty to do during Broome’s wet season, and what makes it more attractive for some are the lower accommodation prices.

Here’s a guide to some attractions and activities you can enjoy, rain or shine.

Visit key landmarks in Central Broome

The Central Broome precinct has many interesting attractions waiting to be explored, including:

Gantheaume Point. Besides the breath-taking views, a must-see in Broome are the fossilised dinosaur footprints around Gantheaume Point. Footprints can also be observed along Reddell Beach and Cable Beach at low tide.

The Japanese and Chinese Cemeteries. A poignant reminder of Broome’s pearling history and migrant workers, this cemetery is located right in the centre of Broome and can be visited alone or with the guidance of a sightseeing tour group.

Broome Museum. Immerse yourself in one of the most interesting history lessons you’ll ever learn at the Broome Museum, which tells some enthralling stories about the town’s pioneering days, World War II raids, and maritime tales. The Museum is open seven days a week, with tours led by local volunteers.

Whether you’re a fashion fiend, into arts and crafts, or just after a laidback morning of wandering while sampling different food trucks, the markets are a welcome place for all to mingle while searching for something special to take back home.
