Short Street Gallery is one of the most well-known names, as Australia’s leading art gallery specialising in Aboriginal art, with works sourced from remote Indigenous communities and Art Centres from the Kimberley and beyond.

Make it the trip of a lifetime and travel back in time at Gantheaume Point

Location: Gantheaume Point
Cost: Free

Walk in the actual footsteps of dinosaurs at Gantheaume Point. Here you’ll find the perfectly preserved footsteps of up to seven different dinosaur species, which have been maintained in the stone of the Point for a mind-boggling 130 million years.

If you look closely, you can see the mammoth footprints of sauropods, the smaller tracks of birdlike ornithopods, or the friendly footprints of Stegosaurus. The best time to go is at low tide, when you can see more of these amazing fossils.

Tour the Willie Creek pearl farm

Location: Just a 37-minute drive from Broome
Cost: From $145 per person

Don’t just visit the showroom—visit a real life pearl farm. Willie Creek Pearls offer tours of their farm, where you can learn about the history and the pearling process, and take a boat ride out into the farm itself and see where it all comes from.

It’s a full day trip, but the specially-chartered coach bus can pick you up and drop you off directly at the Hotel.

See the Horizontal Falls

It’s another full day adventure, and the remote location makes for a more expensive trip—but it’s a day you’ll never forget.

Watch a movie at the world’s oldest outdoor cinema

Location: 8 Carnavon Street

The venerated Sun Pictures in Broome is the world’s oldest outdoor movie theatre. Founded in 1916 and still going strong, it’s open every night with viewings of popular current movies offered twice a night.

See the Staircase to the Moon

Location: The Mangrove Hotel’s Bay Club is perfectly positioned for guests to see the Staircase to the Moon. Alternatively, excellent viewing can be found at Roebuck Bay Lookout.
